Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Master of Counselling Psychology Intern
Hi there! My name is Shannon and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) currently completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Huron University, which I completed in 2020. Since 2021, I have worked within a private psychological practice as an office manager, gaining valuable experience in a setting that offers both psychoeducational assessments and counselling services.
I am especially passionate about supporting women through the unique and often complex challenges they face across different life stages. This includes identity development, infertility, pregnancy, and the postpartum period. As a wife and the mother of a beautiful baby girl, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work, allowing me to approach these topics with empathy, warmth, and understanding.
My goal is to walk alongside individuals on their journey of self-exploration, growth, and development. I aim to help clients deepen their understanding of themselves while also building and maintaining meaningful, healthy relationships with others. My therapeutic approach is person-centred, relational, and eclectic, with a strong emphasis on mindfulness and self-compassion. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to show up as they are.
Outside of the therapy room, I am passionate about animals, the outdoors, and self-care. I consider myself someone who values connection, balance, and authenticity—qualities I also bring into my work with clients. I look forward to working with you and meeting you wherever you are at.
